Born at Peebles in 1887, Todd was the youngest son of Robert Chalmers Todd, a Ploughman, and Agnes [Kerr] Todd, and the husband of Mary M Learmonth whom he married shortly before leaving on active service. His siblings were Richard, John, Margaret, Jessie, Agnes and Elizabeth. Before enlisting at South Queensferry, he was employed as a railway signalman and resided at Wester Dalmeny then 19 Montpelier Park, Edinburgh. Killed in action.
