Age 54. Joined the GER on 12 Sept 1904 as an able seaman on Continental steamers. He served for a time as boatswain before reverting to his previous rank in 1914. His ship, the Brussels, was captured on 23 June 1916 en route from the Hook of Holland. The crew were taken prisoner. (See GER Magazine, June 1916, p.222). Died as a prisoner of war at Brandenberg, Germany. Wyatt is not listed as a casualty by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
