TYNE COT MEMORIAL

Aged, 23. Sergeant Winfield joined up in January, 1916, and after helping in the suppression of Sinn Fein rebellion went out to France, and served for eight months. He was previously employed by the L.N.W.R Company as Goods Clerk.<br />He was killed instantly in Flanders on September 26th, whilst bravely going forward during an attack.<br />
