Notes
Age 21, had joined the NER in June 1913. As a special reservist he was called up on 6 August 1914 and wounded in action in December 1914. He was brought to Newcastle for treatment and on his recovery went again to France where he was killed in action in the vicinity of Neuve Chappelle. NER Magazine gives date of death as 12 March 1915. CWCG gives age as 33.
