Notes

Born in 1895 in Gretna, Dumfriesshire, the son of David and Dinah (nee Atkinson) Veitch, of Eastriggs, Dornock, Dumfriesshire. He enlisted in January 1915 and landed with his Brigade in France in July<br />1915. He was awarded the M.M. in 1916 for conspicuous bravery in repairing telephone lines under heavy shell fire. Died of wounds. Named on the Dornock Parish War Memorial and on the Dornock Parish Church memorial.
