Notes

Age 23, the brother of A E Unwin (porter guard at March). Joined the GER in Sept 1912 as a lad porter at Great Chesterford. Appointed porter-signalman at Smeeth Road in April 1915 and signalman at Middle Drove in August 1916. Enlisted in March 1917. Drowned when ship was sunk. This was probably the SS Aragon, torpedoed off Alexandria.
