Notes

Age 25, the son of John and Martha Steele of London; husband of Florence Steele of 25 Newington Crescent, Newington Butts, London. Joined the GER on 23 October 1904 as a page in the Fenchurch Street Refreshment Rooms. Transferred to restaurant cars as a page on 23 June 1907 and later promoted to attendant. Enlisted on 28 August 1916, killed in action. GER Magazine records his age at death as 27.
