Age 21, the son of Charles W and Alice Spencer of 8 Vicarage Rd, Leyton, London. Joined the GER in September 1908. Enlisted in September 1914 with a group of office colleagues. Served in Egypt, Gallipoli and finally France, where he was reported as missing presumed killed.
