Aged 22, son of Mrs Mary Anne Southern of 1 Third Street, Bensham, Gateshead and the late Frederick Southern. He was with the N.E.R. for five years before enlisting. He had been reported as missing, since officially reported to have been killed at Fluquivers, near St. Quentin, France. <br /><br />Magazine gives ages as 23.
