Aged 20, son of Annie Alice Broughton (formerly Smith) of 26 St Margaret's Rd, Old Fletton, Peterborough and the late John Thomas Smith. He had been with the GER for three years. He enlisted in the Huntingdon Cyclist Corps in 1914. He later volunteered for service in May 1916 with the County of London (Queen's) in France. He was killed in action. <br /><br />The GER Magazine reports that he was in his 21st year when he died.
