Notes

Aged 20, son of Mr and Mrs A. E. Puncher of 200 Chandos Road, Stratford, London. He had worked for the Great Eastern Railway for seven years when he enlisted in September 1914. Puncher was mortally wounded whilst with the machine gun section, and was described by his platoon officer to have "displayed fearless courage in his duties..." and was seen to be a "thoroughly good lad, and very popular."
