Notes

Age 19, the son of Walter and Emily Piper of Lowestoft. Joined the GER on 19 July 1915 at Lowestoft. Enlisted in the Royal Naval Division as an able seaman in April 1917, and went to France in January 1918. While serving as a Lewis gunner he was gassed on 16 March and died 5 days later.
