Notes

Age 49, husband of Mrs T W Norton of 56 Bishophill Senior, York. Native of Worksop. Killed by a bomb during an air raid on a continental port. Joined the NER in 1898 after a long career in the regular army. Called up as a reservist for the South African War, during which he earned two medals and four bars. He returned to the NER in 1902 and volunteered for active service again at the outbreak of war.
