Aged 19, son of Councillor Frederick Dixon and Edith Mary Marper of Northorpe, near Gainsborough. The obituary in the February issue of The Great Central Railway Journal notes that Robert was wounded on the 18 November 1916 and died in a French hospital a day later. He enlisted on the outbreak of the war, passed through the Dublin Riots and at the early age of 19, lost his life for our country.
