Notes

Aged 28, son of the late Edward and Sarah Light of Parkstone, Dorset. Lived with his widowed mother and 2 sisters at 247 Whitehall Road, Bensham, Gateshead on Tyne. Joined the North Eastern Railway Company in 1911, and was deployed to France just after the outbreak of the war. His sister Lillian Elizabeth married Percy Arthur Tavener, who worked with William at the police department, and also fought and died in the war.
