Aged 25 son of John and Elizabeth Lavender of 84 Walpole Rd, New Town, Great Yarmouth. He was a native of Enfield, Middlesex. He was born in January 1891. He joined the GER at Enfield in 1911, as an engine cleaner. He enlisted on the 8th August 1914 along with his brother. His brother Charles served in the 11th Royal Fusiliers. He was killed by shell-fire.
