Notes

Age 28, the son of John & Hannah Kelley of 2 The Crescent. Temple Mills, Stratford, London. A native of Haggerston, London. Joined the GER as an engine cleaner at Stratford in February 1911 and was promoted to acting fireman nine months later. From June 1912 he was based at Bishop's Stortford before returning to Stratford as a fireman. Enlisted in 1914 and went to Malta and Gibraltar, thereafter to France. Promoted to sergeant in the field three months before he died of gas poisoning.
