Aged 27, son of John George and Sarah Holley of Orton Waterville, near Peterborough; husband of Louie Holley of 11 Essex Street, Northampton. In the obituary written in the November 1915 issue of the London and North Western Railway Gazette, it said that Holley succumbed to gunshot wounds his recieved to the head, whilst in hospital. He was promoted to sergeant 3 days before he was wounded, for meritorious work. Holley died 4 months after he married Louie. It also includes an instance in which Holley will always be remembered, for his attempt to save a man from drowning in 1913 in which he recieved a substantial cheque.
