Aged 41, Husband of Lily Holdell of 104 Low Road, Hunslet, Leeds. In his obituary in the June 1917 issue of The Great Central Railway Journal, it was stated that he was hit in the shoulder with shrapnel. After avoiding the torpedoed "Donegal" hospital ship that he was meant to be aboard of, he succumbed to his injuries nearly 2 weeks later. Holden joined the Great Central company in 1891 in Leeds, and joined the colours in September 1916.
