Age 36, the son of George & Rachel Griggs of Tillingham Essex; husband of Constance E Griggs of 126 Meads Lane, Seven Kings, Essex. Joined the GER as porter at Rectory Road in April 1900, later working at Buckhurst Hill and Liverpool Street. Active with the St John's Ambulance Brigade. He volunteered for active service in the Royal Army Medical Corps at the outbreak of war. He died of typhus while serving in Egypt.
