Aged 20, son of Alice Mary French of Ivy Cottage, Steering, Harlow, Essex. He enlisted in September 1914. He was with the GER for about three years. He was a lad-porter at Sawbridgeworth and then porter at Wisbech and Fordham. He was killed in action in Belgium.
