Aged 31, son of George and Jane Ann Flintoft of Fryup, Lealholm, Grosmont; husband of Edith Alice Flintoft of 'Lealholm', Park Grove, Knaresborough. He worked for the North Eastern Railway for fourteen years before he enlisted in September 1914. He was described as "... doing his duty for his employers, his King and his country."
