Age 22, the son of John Duncan of Muirwells Crossings, Farnell, Angus. Duncan joined the Army shortly after the outbreak of war, and after being in France for a time was posted to Mesopotamia, where he was wounded and taken prisoner at the relief of Kut. He died while a prisoner of war at Angora in Turkey.
