Notes

Aged 24, son of John & Rebecca Brown of 40 Harcourt Street, Hope Town, Darlington. After leaving the service of the North Eastern Railway, he acted as an instructor at Portsmouth. Brown was then attached to the H.M.S. "Fortune" in the early start of 1916. He lost his life during the Battle of Jutland.
