Age 20, son of Martin Brown of 72 Highfield, Seamer Road, Scarborough. Killed in action. NER Magazine gives regiment as King's Own Scottish Borderers. Enlisted on 22 November 1915. Joined the NER in April 1913 as an engine cleaner and was transferred to the Operating Department on 1 April 1914 as a temporary lamp lad.
