Notes

Brinded joined the GER in August 1910 at Lowestoft. He became an engine cleaner six months after joining, then was promoted to acting fireman in October 1912. He joined the Royal Naval Reserve on the 20th October 1915. He died in an accident.<br /><br />In the St Paul's booklet the military rank is given as 'A.B.'. The GER Magazine reports that the ship he was on was called the 'Retriever'. Commonwealth War Graves Commission gives the ship's name as 'Boy Roy'.
