Aged 33, son of George & Mary Blanshard of Hull; husband of Ada Blanshard of 3 William's Terrace, Walcott St, Hessle Road, Hull. Whilst serving in a minesweeper, he was lost at sea as it was blown up. Noted as "Blanchard" in the North Eastern Railway Magazine and the St Paul's Cathedral Order of Service 1919, but "Blanshard" on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website.
