Notes

Blackburn was born on the 3rd December 1895. He joined the GER aged 18, as an engine cleaner. He enlisted in the 8th Essex Cyclists in August 1915. He was transferred to the 13th Essex Regiment in August 1916 at the Somme. He was wounded, taken prisoner and re-captured at Beaumont-Hamel on the 13th November 1916. He was reported missing and was presumed to have died on 23rd March 1918.
