Aged 22, son of Elizabeth Bamlett of The Poplars, Haughton-le-Skerne and the late Thomas Bamlett. He had been with the N.E.R. for four years prior to enlisting. A photograph of him also appeared in the May 1916 issue, p113. In that issue it was mentioned that he was one of the first and youngest of the Shildon staff to enlist. He had been at the front about eighteen months and had seen severe fighting. He went missing on September 21, 1917 and was presumed to have died on that date.
