Notes
22, son of George and Ada Atkin of High St, North Ferriby. Private Gilbert Atkin, late summer porter,<br />Brough, who died in General Hospital, France, on October 5, as a result of gunshot wounds received in<br />action, was 22 years of age, and joined the N.E.R. service on August 31, 1912, as lad porter at Ferriby.<br />He enlisted in the 20th Hussars on August 29, 1914, and, after being stationed at Colchester, transferred<br />into the 2nd Suffolk Regiment.
