Age 30, son of Ann Ashton, of 93, George Lane, Woodley, Stockport, and the late Peter Ashton. Previously reported missing on 23 April 1917. Joined the railway on 28 September 1899. A prominent member of the Hatherlow Brotherhood, Romiley, and well-known in Cheshire and Derbyshire for his prowess at cricket and football.
