Son of Thomas and Sarah Armstrong of 115 Ravensworth Rd, Dunston on Tyne. Killed in a railway accident while on active service. Called up at the outbreak of war. NER Magazine states he was a lad porter at Dunston prior to which he had worked at Knitsley.
