Aged 24, son of William Armstrong of Gateshead, husband of Ellen Armstrong of 24 Henderson Road, Sunderland. He worked for the North Eastern Railway from March 1909 at Gateshead, until he joined the Royal Navy in April 1915. Armstrong was lost at sea.
