28 son of Robert & Mary Ann Atkinson; husband of Mary E Atkinson of 13 South Eldon Street, South Shields<br />Leading Seaman G. L. Atkinson, who had been serving in the Royal Naval Division, Hawke Battalion, is reported to have died of fever in the<br />Royal Hospital, Alexandria, on November 15, 1915.<br />Mr. Atkinson joined the N.E.R. service on October 8, 1904, and was employed as a shunter, and afterwards as a teemer at Tyne Dock. He<br />took part in one or two actions in the Gallipoli Peninsular.
